KISS Does Summer at Gatecrasher’s Summer Sound System 2008. Here are the highlights from Day 2.
Unfortunately because of poor weather conditions The Main Stage couldn’t open on Day 2, but not to fear, the clever people at Gatecrasher moved the likes Pendulum into a packed out Metropolis tent. They didn’t disappointed the damp yet very eager crowd. Earlier in the day the superb dubstep DJ’s Benga and Skream played an extended 2.5 hour set, and building an electric atmosphere for one of the most anticipated artists of the weekend: Dizzee Rascal. The Mercury Music Prize winner set was definitely a highlight of Day 2.
On the other side of the field both Out Of Office and one of 2008’s inform producers and remixers Alex Metric provided some deadly performances. As evening fell both Chicane and Paul Oakenfold played memorable sets in the awesome Crasher arena and Mark Ronson, Soulwax, MANDY and SIMIAN pumped out awesome beats in the Zane Lowe tent to a load of very wet but very happy ravers! One of the busiest tents all day was Hardcore Heaven with a line up including DJ’s Hixxy, Dougal and Darren Styles. As the weekend drew to a close the only place to be was in the Tiga Turbo tent where Boyznoise, Chromeo, Erol Alkan and Tiga himself pumped it out to the early hours.
Don’t forget to listen to KISS all next week and check www.totalkiss.com/summer for all of the back stage interviews and set highlights plus we’ll be posting a load of cool pics in the gallery section!
